The Adonis Corporation

Name: The Adonis Corporation
Location: Marshalltown, Indiana
First Mention: “Rough Cut” by Rutledge Productions

Description:
The Adonis Corporation is an abandoned glass factory that once thrived as a bustling industrial site, nearly forming a small town of its own. Today, it stands in ruins, surrounded by a fence that separates it from the nearby residential areas. Despite being reduced to about 12 acres from its original hundred, the factory’s skeletal structure, with shards of glass still clinging to window frames and overgrown grass surrounding it, makes a haunting sight.

Historical Significance:
In its heyday, The Adonis Corporation was a significant local employer and an integral part of the community’s economic fabric. The transition from a hundred-acre facility to what remains today speaks volumes of its rise and fall. The factory’s decline began after a devastating fire in 1944, which led to the collapse of several sections and resulted in the tragic deaths of approximately 30 people, including casualties from both the fire and the structural collapses.

Paranormal Activity:
Reputed to be the most haunted location in the state, The Adonis Corporation attracts thrill-seekers and paranormal investigators. It is famed for a variety of supernatural occurrences, including residual hauntings, poltergeist activity, and reports of demonic possessions. These eerie tales contribute to its mystique and make it a subject of both fear and fascination.

Current Status:
While most of the original buildings have been demolished or repurposed, the remnants of The Adonis Corporation continue to captivate the imagination. Its chilling past and the stories of hauntings that surround it ensure that it remains a poignant landmark
