He survived the ordeal, but the incident has left him with unresolved questions and a heightened sense of caution as he continues his work in remote areas of the city.

Karl has looked up to Gary Wilhoite as a mentor and guide in the complex world of urban planning. Gary’s sudden disappearance following Karl’s attack in the woods has been a significant blow to Karl, not only personally but also professionally.
